Do either of you have any gigs coming up you can let the readers know about?
SB: Luke and I have been talking about doing some combined DJ/Live gigs with decks and synths etc. which could be fun. Hopefully they’ll be the opportunity for that to happen down the line. Aside from that, I’ve got a couple of Union Jack live shows coming up: Purim Festival in Israel on 4th March, and Lost Theory Festival in Spain on 16th July.
LB: Gigs all over the UK and Europe, and something very exciting coming up in Birmingham called ‘Back to ours’ I am really excited about it so just some information on the people behind the
night .Birmingham based producer Ryan McCormack & Natasha Boolaky are bringing “Back to Ours” along with myself and Bedrocks Nick Muir and C jay will be playing on the night t. So the gig Starts off on a Boat during the day and then we all play at play at The Tunnel Club in the evening being joined by Kiz Pattison. Can’t wait so if your planning a trip to Birmingham get down and check it out.
On a Production level who is pushing the boundaries right now for you both ?
LB: I’m loving Patrice Baumel; everything he does at the moment is just amazing I just can’t get enough of him and labels like Afterlife are really changing the scene for me right now.
SB: For me it’s more individual one-off tracks, rather than any handful of artists in particular, that are pushing the boundaries, and within those tracks it might be just one original idea that moves progresses things forward on a production level and consequently creates inspiration for other producers. As for individual artists, I’m really looking forward to hearing Stephan Bodzin’s new album which I’ve heard might be released this summer. I’m hoping it will include the incredible unreleased track he’s been holding back on releasing for the past 2 years. For me, his Powers Of Ten album was a refreshing and genre defining album and his more recent remix of Monument by Tale Of Us was spot on.
Are either of you travelling out to Ibiza this season or any big festivals?
LB: I will definitely be popping over at various point, cant wait!
SB: I’ve got a couple of Union Jack live shows coming up as mentioned above so just watch out for them as we are still adding dates.
Can you tell the readers when the track
will get a full release? Also who you got to
on Remix duties ?
SB: Wake Up is scheduled for release on 16th March on Circus Recordings.
LB: So excited to have Drumcodes Kaiserdisco on remix duties, they are smashing it at the moment and also the amazing Mella Dee who is causing serious waves. Circus has knocked it out the park for us on this package. Feel privileged.
Luke & Simon Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to talk to me here today. I have no doubt the readers here at Zone will be intrigued as am I and really wishing you both every success with the full release of “Wake UP” due out on Circus recordings March 16th.
