‘I confronted Paul about it afterwards when Seki wasn’t there, he knew how annoyed I was even before I spoke’.
She went on to tell me that he explained that when Seki got upset she gets angry it was just her way. Telling him that he needed to sort it all out before he drove the customers away.
‘It was just so embarrassing for me Amber with them screaming at each other like that’.
Paul had promised to sort it out tonight, Penny even suggested that they take the night off and book into a hotel to get themselves sorted.
‘I know that it’s not easy for them Amber’ she softened now, ‘ I know they are scared that her father will find them and that must be very distressing for them, but they can’t run for the rest of their lives’.
‘I’m sorry Penny it is obviously very upsetting for you but I’m sure with just a little more time they’ll sort it out’, I wasn’t too sure I believed this myself, but I knew it was what she needed to hear right now.
‘I know you’re right’, she sighed, ‘thank you for listening to me rant Amber you are a good friend’.
‘Tell me Penny is this rain every going to stop?’ I laughed trying to lift the mood and change the subject.
‘ I know! It’s so miserable I was only thinking early that I needed to brighten up the front of the Penny Lane, it’s looking a little dull and this weather isn’t doing it any favours’.
Glad of the subject change she went on to tell me her plans to cheer up the outside of the B&B and pub. It involved plenty of flower filled tubs and hanging baskets and she had even gone to visit to Mr. Hut to see if Paddy would be available to do some of the
