has been knitting at every spare moment and had already knitted quite a few dozen little cardigans for both babies in various colours. Paul had taken on extra staff, so he could have some time with Seki and the baby but also to give Penny a little freer time too. She was taking the granny business to a new high informing both Seki and I that she had bought the baby prams and not to worry.
Leaving Rex watching American football on the tv I had decided to have an early night one evening, they were becoming all too common these days. Relaxing under the covers I started to read a baby book I had recently bought, about an hour in Rex came rushing up the stairs shouting, ‘Amber! Call Penny it’s urgent!’
Looking at the clock it was 10.15pm.
‘What’s the matter’? I asked as I quickly dialed her number.
‘It’s Seki, she isn’t feeling very well at all, Paul just rang he is taking her into the emergency ward’, he panted.
Talking to Penny a few moments later she had explained that Seki had woken up with a very bad headache that had lasted all day and she had gotten paler and paler as the day had gone on until she had started to throw up everything she ate that’s when Paul had finally persuaded her to go to the hospital. Penny was beside herself with worry. ‘If you both could come in and stay here for the night I can go up to support Paul’, she pleaded, ‘I hate to ask it’s just....’, she broke down on tears before she could finish the sentence.
‘It’s no problem Penny we’ll be there as soon as possible’.
Hanging up I rushed downstairs, Rex close behind me, pulling on my coat over my night dress and grabbing a set of clothes I explained to him what was going on.
