The Gallery were delighted with my paintings assuring me of an early sale. They have a client who would be interested in his Hotel. With that news I cheerfully went to meet Rex a couple of doors down.
‘You look like the cat who got the cream’, Rex said laughing.
‘How very English of you to say that’, I chuckled as I grabbed his arm.
‘Let’s go for lunch and talk, tell me all about yourself’, He asked guiding me towards a little Bistro on the main street.
We choose a secluded table in the corner of the Bistro. At most there were four couples, enough to give a cozy ambience in the room.
‘Did Mr. Harris have good news’, I asked as we studied the menu.
‘He has found a colleague of my Fathers who wishes to meet me. Only problem is he lives in London’, acknowledging the waiter, Rex ordered,‘A bottle of the house red’. Glancing in my direction he asked me to choose the main.
‘Two of your best steaks, one well done and one medium rear, salad and a portion of fries’, handing the menu to the waiter I smiled at Rex surprise look on his face. ‘You read my mind Amber, I would have chosen the steak’.
‘I took your lead when you ordered the red wine I guess you were a steak man’, I smiled.
‘Are you going to go and meet this colleague of your Father’? I would like to speak to him in person’.
‘Tell me how have you sold any paintings?
‘Yes, they’re doing very well, I have a client who likes my Irish scenes’.
‘Yes, I did notice a couple on the seat as I got in the car, one of O’Connell Street that’s your main street in Dublin’, Rex said with knowledge.
Taken back. I asked, ‘Have you been to Ireland?
