What’s the one track you’d wish you’d made or been involved with?
I am on backing vocals on this particular song. It's Sybil's 'Love I Lost'! Such a great cover of the Harold Melvin and the blue notes classic. Sybil gave that track a real breath of fresh air, and I was called into the PW L studios to do the backing vocals along with 3 other backing singers. I loved it and it was such an immediate hit and really great to sing on. This was just prior to IGGU being released.
Where’s your favourite place to go to in the world?
There are still a lot of places in the world that I haven't been to. I haven't really been to the Far East, I haven’t been to Africa, and haven't been to Australia. So there still lots of places to see! But I have been all over Europe, and the states of course. lots of visits to Dubai Ibiza, Spain and Greece as well.
You have a new radio show
starting soon, when and how can
we hear you?
Yes that's right I do have a radio show starting soon. But I am trying to learn how to work everything. I am so rubbish with IT. I think I was asked by the owner of the radio station because he likes my personality. Thank goodness I'm only going to do an hour show. And of course, I will feature house music. All of the other genres I think have been covered already. So, I would be on between 10 and 11 on a Thursday night. The radio station is called 2nd City Radio and I will be launching my show at the end of May.
What music do you listen to when
you’re completely away from
clubland and which artists?
My favorite music to listen to when I'm not listening to away from dance music, is definitely late 60's and 70s. I love Aretha Franklin, Stevie wonder, Dusty Springfield, Candy Stanton, The Doobie Brothers, Michael Jackson, Gladys Knight, Randy Crawford, Tina Turner and Carol King... to name few that are in bedded with my love for music, all mixed in with happy sunny days of growing up in the 70s!
Having a team around you to help
with every aspect of your career is
so important, who would you say
you couldn’t do without and why?
As I'm a freelance artist: and I haven't been signed to a record label for well over 20 years. I would easily say the most important people around me that helped to keep my name out there as an artist, is definitely my agents. I have at least three or four. And they deal with different clientele, one has the big branded nights like Hed Kandi, Radio One, another one books me for purely for private events, another agent are you specializes in 90’s weekenders at Butlins, and so on and so forth. One of my favorite agents, books me for the big gay clubs and LGBT events (Gay Pride).. so it’s always good and busy for me thank goodness.
