Listening to Ataraxia and Ghost, there are little subtle touches that are difficult to resist; your music also possesses motifs that twist the music on its side and take the listener on aural voyages they can immediately recognise as your work; What elements do you find most influential in crafting your music? Would it be the desire to play these tracks live, personal experiences, or an amalgam of both?
The idea is to make people travel while dancing and not to matter if they’re listening at home or at a party. I try to do my own thing, focusing on big potent basses and the rest is coming. I don’t care too much about what’s trendy or "genre pureness" as I need to feel free to explore, what’s nice/right for me and what can make the people dance.
You recently played in Dublin, how
did the event go and what do you
like most about playing in Ireland?
It was my third time in Ireland, and it was nice, many Spanish people together with Irish. Both are people who love to party and with loads of energy, so this is the main ingredient for a good event. For me, it’s impressive that even when the clubs close so early, people have that energy and hope they can find an after party.
Outside of dance music, which musicians and styles of music do you appreciate the most, and in what way do they creatively influence you?
About inspiration, I try to have a clear mind. I can’t say a name as there are not any in particular but I love to listen all kind of music and take small things from every place. When I’m out of the studio, I listen different radio stations. For example, when I’m exercising, driving etc... I listen to a huge variety of styles.
If you could go back 30 years or
more, what musical advice would
you give to yourself?
Don’t let the critics affect you, just trust in yourself (I’ve been doing this for a while now.
The piece of music (regardless of genre) that influenced you most is...
For different reasons, it’s a very special one... Yeke Yeke Mory Kante
What projects do you have planned for this year, and which other performers do you plan to work with in the future?
In late April my new Melodream EP will be released on Silver M. It comprises of 3 original tracks that I’ve worked really hard on and I’m pretty satisfied with plus 2 remixes from Drunken Kong and Rudosa. We are releasing every two weeks on my label, Silver M, now and things are running great with new up-and- coming producers that I love frequently sending us fresh music to release, so is a year has to be focused on the label and its output.
What are your top 5 favourite tunes at present, and what artists do you believe will make the breakthrough in 2018?
Rudosa´s remix of my new track Hammer Constructivism - Slam
Return to 90´s - Roentgen Limiter
What (Atze Ton Remix) - Frau Anke Celeste (Weska Remix) - Spektre
