HEAD LYNCH
" The future's looking bright at the minute. I've been hosting techno Tuesday now for a couple of months and the
listenership has been steadily increasing. We've had people turning in from Japan, Bangladesh, Germany, Australia and it's great to have that immediate interaction with your audience. "
House or Techno?
That would depend on the time of day and what mood I happen to be in. For me House is a more vocal and melodic thing for early on in the day, whereas Techno is percussive driven futurism for late in the night! When it comes to DJing I tend to fall on the deeper, darker side of electronic music but I like to throw in plenty of melodic and vocal tracks in my sets. When it comes to production it's 50/50. I might be too melody minded to produce pure techno but I’m happy whichever way it comes out. If I had to choose it would be techno!
Anything you would like to say?
Just want to say that I’m excited for the future. Hopefully I will have new music out soon along with some free downloads through my soundcloud page. I’m also excited about the growing popularity of Techno Tuesday. We are
regularly interacting with 7/8k people through social media and this immediate interaction with the audience is great. Hopefully this develops into a live show in the not too distant future.
Any shouts?
Big shout out to the KickstreamTV crew up in Drogheda (Adrian Yore, Derek Red O Sullivan Derek Cully and Darren Kennedy). Great bunch of lads! They’ve had Irish DJs like Keno Flanagan and DJ Orbit in for a spin as well as Ibiza legend Brandon Block who stopped by for an interview in the lead up to a recent gig in Dublin. They're always on the lookout for new DJs so anyone interested just give them a shout through their website or Facebook page. They’re doing great things for the electronic dance music scene in Ireland and long may it continue.
Of course a special shout to my Techno
Tuesday partners in crime DUVS and Bobby Heeney. Both lads are very talented and experienced DJs having played in clubs in the North East for years. It’s been a privilege to listen to their sets for the past few months and with an increasing audience online we’re hoping for bigger and better things in 2017.
