Well Folks, back again with another huge issue! With so much happening in the world of Electronic music, across Ireland & the world, we endeavour to capture as much as we can for you to feast your ears & eyes on!
Lots of great things happening here at Zone HQ just for you lot, so keep comming back! Zone would like to welcome a few new members to the sales team: David & Paul. And to our new 'Zone USA' section we have: Andrew, Zenia, Issac, Nic, and May.
In our interviews in this issue we talk to cover man, and one of the pioneers of dance music, Mark Knight. His name is synonymous with the underground dance scene which is at juxtaposition to his success as an industry leader as surely, the runaway success of his DJing, recording career, record label and touring brand ‘Toolroom Live’ make him a household name in dance music circles!
Next up is Ireland's Sirkus Sirkuz AKA Declan McLaughlin who has spent the last 14 years touring the world playing the biggest clubs and festivals as part of The Japanese Popstars and Hedrock Valley Beats; Decky Hedrock decided to go back to his roots and create a new live act called Sirkus Sirkuz.
We also talk to Germany's 'Queen of Techno', Klaudia Gawlas. She is a DJ, producer and label boss. Her straight Techno thrills her fans all over the world. Since 2013 she has been voted Best DJ in the FAZEMag reader poll three times in a row. Also from Germany we have duo Piemont who have proven to be an absolute production power-house over the last half decade.
We have Irish artists: Orla Feeney, as far as flourishing female artists go, Orla has certainly earned her status as being one of the world's leading trance ladies in the scene. Head Lynch is one of Ireland rising Techno stars, and Co-founder of KickstreamTV, recording artist for Redbox Records, a surgical mixing style and rich melodic productions. Christopher Kirkpatrick, AKA Shugz, is a name that has appeared to come out of nowhere on the Trance scene. Combining youth, energy, electrifyingly impressive deck skills and a notable production ability, it doesn’t take long to realise why there is such a fuss around this exceptional talent.
From Italy we have Christian Hornbostel, starting a DJ Career in Italy and with some home grown productions and gigs, some two decades on and the man hasn't stopped, with hugely successful releases such as 'Mismoplastico', 'Back To The Music' and 'Into Your Mind' to name but a few!
Bazza's Ragga Stack talks to DJ Maars from the UK. With his roots in bass heavy, dub-wise party music, Maars first reached for the turntables and mixer in sunny Southsea, U.K. Quickly rising up through the underground scene, he gained several club night residencies.
Adding to all this we have our "Whats in your studio?" featuring Thrillseekers, and of course "The best sets on the net."
We also review ADE and Awakening Festival 2016!
Zone USA -
Starting this issue we have our Zone USA section. Bringing you all the hot news and goings on across the pond! Andrew Lazer will be heading up the team, and I can see this being a fantastic addition to Zone Magazine, with plenty of great interviews and reviews to come!
Our feature this issue for Zone USA are Krewella - With over 2 Million likes on their Facebook page, something special is going on! Hailing from Chicago, the electropunk sister duo are active vocal inspirations through their music and editorials. Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf have grown into symbols of female empowerment - personified work ethic that transcended social and gender stigmas to ultimately achieve their dream.
We talk to Jounce about a certain remix which has blown up and had massive feedback and support globally!
We also review 2 well known clubs and give you the scoop on whats going on there! And we also review Kerwella in action!
As if all that was not enough of course we have our regular reviews and charts from the talented and dynamic Zone crew.
