“I don’t have the authority to hand over cash of such an amount, for the sale of O’ Neilson cabin. My father is the only one who can do that. Besides I wouldn’t know the value. I can certainly pay Mitch and Josh,” Sofie told me a little irritated. I had now realised that, when the cabin was bought by Margarete, from John, the agreement was that she could only sell it back to him if she moved.
“That will have to do for the time being, meanwhile, I’ll return to Truth and speak to Mr. Choo about the Hotel. I have a little saved . . . it was to be for our future,” I directed this comment at Sofie. “I will put it in the pot towards the cost of the hotel and ALL our futures.” I hadn’t yet told Sophie about my idea of us initially living all together in the Hotel.
Johanna said she had a small sum of money and wanted to be a part of the adventure. Sofie did not comment or offer to take part in the plan. . . . out of fear of her father’s reaction, perhaps?
