Protec acquires Aventeq and sets up European events arm
Dubai-based Protec has acquired Birmingham, UK-based Aventeq, which is being re-branded as Protec European Events.
Aventeq will now have access to a larger palette of technology, equipment and staff and is in a stronger position to target a larger client base. I can also offer a more comprehensive and creative approach to technical productions.
Established in 2008 by an experienced team led by Chris Bramwell (pictured right), Aventeq has become known for the slick production of events across the UK and Europe. Its services include creative and technical design, production, lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging and venue support services.
Stephen Lakin, founder and CEO of Protec (pictured left), said: “I have a lot of time for Chris Bramwell and the team. They have built up a strong business and I’m thrilled to welcome them into the Protec family. I am looking forward to the opportunity to introduce their customers to a wider global reach and more exciting tools and technology to create unique and memorable event experiences.”
Protec offers a comprehensive event technology and staging service, covering design, planning and implementation. It has 10 departments, more than 140 staff, and has invested over $80 million in the UAE so that it is ahead of the game with technology and equipment.
Lakin added: “Although we are one of the largest events technical and staging solutions companies in the world, in my mind our creative approach to all our projects, and the ability to consistently create extraordinary experiences through clever use of technology is what sets us apart. It is this approach that Protec European Events will take on which I’m sure will be an important factor to ensure that our clients are thrilled with every event delivery.”

Aventeq is now better placed to grow it client base, and the sophistication of its projects, following its acquisition by the Dubai-based staging and event technology powerhouse.
