                     SUMMER ROUND UP 2018
As the 2018 summer approaches, Protec reflects on another busy start to the year and looks forward to the season ahead
The busy first half of the 2018 season saw Protec delivering unrivalled technical support once again for many diverse events in the GCC, KSA and Europe.
                                                                                                          February – the renowned Barcelona and Ibiza brand ‘elrow’ performed to a sold-out Dubai crowd with Protec providing full audio and lighting installs as well as an SMD ground support.
In March, Protec were honoured to be part of an inspiring show for the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony, providing lighting, audio and video as well as some rigging for the show in ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.
April saw the return of the MESE Awards – Protec took home the award for the ‘Best Use of Technology Product’ for Protec Robotics.
Olivia Joyce also shortlisted for lighting designer of the year award and the EINO backstage award respectively.
July saw the return of Tomorrowland to the Du Forum, Yas Island, where a live satellite link was set up between Dubai, Belgium, and six other Unite events across the globe. Protec was called on once more by Envie Events to deliver audio, lighting, video, scenic, staging and rigging solutions for what is one of the most elaborate festivals on earth.

    achievements at the TPMEA Awards – Steve Lakin, CEO, won the AV Industry Recognition Award. Simon Travis winning AV Project Manager of the Year, with nominees Aaron Russ and
was already looking forward to the second half of the year with the return of the 25th anniversary of IDEX ahead in early 2019, as well as many other exciting and diverse events to come throughout the rest of the season.
