SPOTTED PORCELAIN CRAB (Porcellana sayana) < 2.5 cm / 1 in
 ale  in  to reddish cara ace and cla s  all co ered in bright white and purple spots, each circled in red.
Many porcelain crabs have a set of delicate fan-shaped mouth parts that can be extended out into the water to feed on plankton. They most often use these fans at night, when there are fewer predators about. They are safely tucked away in the daytime, when the crab feeds on detritus.
