Separating Mixtures
When we separate a substance from a mixture, the substance’s physical properties stay the same.
When I take a piece of pepper (a substance) out of my salad (a mixture), the cucumber doesn’t change.
Pay close attention. There are many Regents questions on this topic.
Let’s learn about five different methods for separating mixtures:
1. Boiling/Distillation/ Evaporation
2. Filtration
3. Chromatography
