These prefixes are used in front of meters, grams, pascals, moles, joules, liter, and parts per million.
Centimeter means 10-2 (0.01) meters.
How to find the numeric value of a factor:
1. Write ‘10’
2. Move the decimal over according to the exponent number.
1 kiloliter = 10000L
We moved the decimal point over 3 times to the right because the exponent is a positive 3.
1 centimeter = 0.01m
We moved the decimal point over 2 times to the left because the exponent is negative 2.
