A student views the hair removed from prisoners upon their arrival at Auschwitz. Those who were not murdered immediately were issued striped uniforms, tattooed
with numbers on their arms, and shaved bald in an effort to humiliate them.
The suitcases of doomed prisoners are displayed at Auschwitz. Those arriving at the camp were unaware that they would be unable to keep their personal belongings and had no idea of their ultimate fate.
