Concerning the vole control query from New York State in “Questions & Answers”
in the March-April issue of W.C.T. Magazine, it should be emphasized that in New York a pesticide application has to be done by a certified pesticide applicator who is working for a registered pesticide business or agency. This applies to all pesticides including rodenticides (whether restricted use or general use) and chemical repellents. The only exception is the application
of a general use pesticide on
the property where the individual lives. Also, the target pest (voles) and target site (lawns) need to be specifically listed on the label.
