The cover artist is Renee Decator. Originally from Alabama, her family moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, when she was eight years old. She and her husband and children moved to Indialantic in 1996. Drawing
was her childhood passion and she lled many sketchbooks through
the years. Her serious study began in the ‘90’s when she attended classes for two years at the Artquest School of Art & Design in Daytona Beach. She has attended classes
and workshops presented by the Continuing Education program of the Ringling School of Art and classes presented by the Brevard Art Museum (now the Foosaner Art Museum).
Renee is a mixed-media artist. She teaches and works at her studio, Artescape, in downtown Melbourne. She is a gallery associate at the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery in Melbourne and is a past president of the Gallery. She will be the artist in residence at Viera High School in February 2018.
Renee’s artist statement follows. “My art is all about the wonders of life, as I see them. I love color and texture and am fascinated with small things;
the way a leaf curls to catch
the rain, or the silhouette of a blackbird in the sky above me. My exploration into art was literally ‘eye-opening.’ It quickly became a passion and forever became the best description of who I am. My goal is to always be true to my passions in life. To explore and discover, to see my world with childlike wonder, and share my vision of those wonders through by artwork.”
Renee has been an artist
in ArtWorks of Eau Gallie since 2002. She is this year’s poster artist. Renee’s acrylic on canvas painting, “Eau Gallie Re ections,” speaks to the vibrancy of Eau Gallie’s riverfront views. The poster will be available for purchase at the Information Booth during the ArtWorks Festival. The poster design is by Ryan Speer, Speerbot.
The 21st Annual ArtWorks of Eau Gallie Fine Arts Festival will be on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 & 19, along
Highland Ave. in Melbourne’s Eau Gallie Arts District. The artists selected to be in the Festival will be displaying and selling original art. And they will also be creating new works of art in their booths and demonstrating their techniques. The artists will be competing for $20,000 in awards, including the $3500 Link Johnsten Best of Show Award.
Awards sponsors are ArtWorks of Eau Gallie, Inc.; Foosaner Art Museum; allaprima styling group; Art & Antique Studio; Brevard Watercolor Society; Derek Gores Gallery; Fifth Avenue Art
