Add Frames
1. Sew 1-1/20 3 10-1/20 Word Toss, Teal framing strips to the right and left sides of the block. Press seams toward framing strip.
2. Sew 1-1/20 x 3 12-1/20 Word Toss, Teal framing strips to the top and bottom of the block. Press seams toward framing strip.
Rows Assembly
2. Sew the blocks in diagonal rows with setting Word Toss, Neutral triangles and corner triangles on each end of block rows.
3. Triangles are slightly larger than needed and can be trimmed to allow 1/40 seam allowance after sewing row.
BORDERS:
1. Measure quilt top to determine the length of inner borders (should be 51-1/20 for side borders and 53-1/20 for top and bottom borders).
2. Join [3] 1-1/20 strips, then cut into [2] border pieces 51-1/20.
3. Sew and press seams toward border.
4. Join remaining 1-1/20 strips and cut into [2] border pieces 53-1/20 for top and bottom borders. Sew and press toward borders.
5. Join [3] 50 gold strips and cut into [2] side border pieces measuring 53 1⁄2”. Sew to each side of quilt top.
6. Join remaining [3] 50 strips and cut into [2] pieces measuring 62-1/20. Sew to top and bottom of quilt top.
1. Arrange the blocks with attention to the posi- tion of the framed and frameless blocks to form the linear pattern of dark and light contrast.
FINISHING:
1. Layer quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt as desired.
2. Sew binding strips using diagonal seams to make one long strip at least 2700. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Apply folded binding to quilt edge.

adults to sew, I have been creating with fabric. After retirement as a professional educator and facilitator of learning I have
turned my focus to designing and creating both traditional and artistic quilts. A book, Hand Me Down Quilts, just completed as a collaboration with my daughter has been my most treasured accomplishment.
