Module 4: Writing with Fluency and Control
Learning Objectives for Module 4:
It is a natural progression to begin to join letters together in high frequency words or according to the teaching of digraphs. Whilst it is hoped that children begin to join without too much formal teaching, the programme offers activities so direct, structured teaching can be delivered, whilst also offering opportunities for those children who are ready to join to explore games that shows them how.
Module 4 : Showing and Telling
The structure which has shapes the children's learning so far has been the animal characters. In Module 4: Showing and Telling there are activities which children can practise joining letters together, dictated by the animal characters. This form of teaching provides children with the visual clue, in the form of the animals and therefore they can then link together the letters using the starting shape of the second animal.
