Module 4: Writing with Fluency and Control Teacher’s Guide.
Objective: Correct joining of a short, Zac the Grey Sheep letter to a Harriet the Cow letter
 Lesson plan:
In small groups, seated at a table each child has a Write and Wipe Board and a suitable pen. The teacher has the illustrated Zac the Grey Sheep and Harriet the Cow letter cards.
1. Keeping the two card sets separate, lay Zac the Grey Sheep and Harriet the Cow letter cards face down. Ask two children to pick a card each so they have two letters to join, e.g. w to h. If the children have already completed the ‘dip joining’ lesson they will know r, v and w are joined at the helicopter line. If they have not covered this lesson plan please follow items 2-3 on page 6 to introduce this concept.
2. Demonstrate on your Write and Wipe Board how to join w to h.Remind the children not to lift their pens when writing.
3. Ask two new children to pick a card and repeat the process above until all the letters have been attempted.
