My art is a portal to a future civilization where
doom and hope coexist. In attempt to envision
what our world would be like if the environmen-
tal collapse were to happen, I set off to capture Artem our transitioning and reinterpret canonical re-
presentations of post-apocalyptic disorder. Using
drawing, etching and collage as primary means of
self-expression, I offer a glimpse into the new rea-
lity with a hopeful outlook, depicting how those Mirolevich who survived the massive drowning would deal
with the precariousness of living. Central to my works are the themes of loss and survival, and reproduction of human knowledge and artefacts.
Artem Mirolevich is featured seating in front of his9x6 ft (3x2 meters) oil on canvas painting titled “Gaia”. It addresses issues of Global Warming and overpopulation and was featured in Venice during 58th Venice Art Biennale in 2019. Photographed by Pavel Antonov in artist’s studio.
