 THINGS TO DO
Nature and parks
Nature is right on the doorstep of downtown Sydney. Sydney is known for its gardens and parklands, too.
Whale watching
The annual migration of thousands of humpbacks and other whales along the NSW coast, between May and November, is one of the world's great natural wonders. Whale watching is popular on Sydney coastal walks and on special boat tours.
Adventure and Sport
Whether you’re a rugby fan, diving enthusiast, avid sailor or expert surfer, you’ll find adventure activities and sports to suit all tastes in Sydney. Battle rapids on an Olympic white-water rafting course, kayak on Sydney Harbour or defy gravity at iFly indoor skydiving. Wonderful ways to enjoy the incredible natural harbour include kayaking, jet boating or stand-up paddle
boarding. You can hire sailboats and marvel at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge from the sparkling blue water.
Hike one of the many walking trails in beautiful national
parks, including Australia’s two oldest national parks – the
Royal and Kur-ring-Gai Chase. There are also great cycling trails.
Try horse riding in Centennial Parklands, or take lessons at Hawkesbury Valley Equestrian Centre or Otford Farm. Improve your golf swing at one of the city’s golf courses. Many have incredible coastal views, such as The Coast Golf Club and The Bondi Golf and Diggers Club’s.
