    Weather Testing
Weather Testing
Gemini is committed to the long term sustainablility of our letters in all environments, and thoroughly tests all materials and coatings before add- ing any new products to our catalog. The most common failures of any sign product usually involve either prolonged UV exposure or reaction to environmental moisture or chemicals. Recently we have established standards similar to those of the automotive industry for all our exterior grade materials and coatings. You can be assured that any Gemini product you install has been exhaustively tested for durability in all environments.
 UV TesTing
Gemini utilizes the Xenon Weatherometer to simulate prolonged UV exposure. One reason all Gemini products look as good today as
they did 30 years ago is that they are made of pigmentation that can survive in test environ- ments like you see at right. This equipment utilizes a high watt Xenon Arc bulb that has
the destructive capability of direct sunlight, in addition to cycles of humidity and darkness to represent the overall environment of one year in just 2,350 hours. Gemini follows the J1960 automotive test standard that employs the cycli- cal humidity and temperature features of this machine.

Corrosion TesTing
Gemini utilizes the Advanced Cyclic Corrosion Exposure System on our test materials. This rigorous process includes salt fog, mois- ture and heat cycles to simulate long-term environmental exposure in the harshest climates. After 1000 hours in this chamber, only the most chemical resistant products come out looking present- able. All Gemini paints and metals have passed these tests.
