ESSENTIAL OIL USE :COMMON AILMENTS
Before choosing essential oils to blend always ensure that a thorough pain assessment is conducted. See appendix A for different pain assessment tools. Implementing an essential oil for any treatment requires nurses to complete their assessment as they would any other care plan therapy or medication treatment. By doing a patient health assessment, collaborating with the patient on a nursing diagnosis, planning for treatment, implementing treatment and then evaluating the treatment (ADPIE) you are ensuring that you are following the nursing process in your administration of this therapy.
