Theresa Hicks was born March 8, 1956 in Oakland County, Pontiac, Michigan to
the late Jackie Dell Hicks and Charles Long. She departed this earthly life on May 11,
2023 peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Theresa is survived by her three children, Louis Howard Hicks of Charlotte,
North Carolina, Rhonda Runell Lynn Hicks (James) of Texas, and Aneesah Roshawn
Robinson (Sinclair) of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Theresa was the first niece of Betty, Willie Junior and Edna Ruth Fluellen. She

was the eldest of four siblings, Ruth Elizabeth Hicks-Oglesby (James) of Charlotte,
North Carolina, Charles Darius Hicks (Marsha) of St. John, Florida, and Damon Shawn
Hicks of Los Angeles, California.
Theresa was called to care for others as a Certified Nurse Assistant II. She was
studying to become a phlebotomist, after going back to school to obtain her high
school diploma. Thresea was known by her friends in the community as a hardworking
woman who minded her own business. Theresa loved to dance, listen to jazz music
and throw parties. She inherited her cooking skills from her late Aunt Betty Fluellen.
Theresa would get the family together on holidays by preparing home cooked meals.
She was known for her cream of mushroom chicken and smothered pork chops.
Thresa leaves to cherish her memories: eight grandchildren; Louis Jr., Britany,

Takayla, Byron, Bryan, Shai-Ann, Kameron and Eboni; ten great grandchildren, four
nieces, two nephews and a host of other relatives, extended family and friends.
