6.4.1.3 PREFER TO SPEND TIME DOING OTHER THINGS
Preferring to spend time elsewhere is another key reason for not browsing the cruise Duty / Tax Free retail offer among European travellers.
Time saving shopping methods should be considered both on-board and on-land, although due to the more limited time period a traveller will have on-land, it is a more pertinent at these locations. This should be driven by operators providing pre- order or ‘click and collect’ style purchase methods on websites or via online services to allow service browsing while the shoppers is engaged in other activities.
On-board operators should also look to engage the shopper with special events outside the store environment, such as, potentially branded Whisky or chocolate tasting. On-land store operators could also look to provide non-store based activities via excursion based offerings, such as wine tasting in French locations.
