Dr. Kuldip Thusu receives a hug and a watch from board president Cheryl Nicolay for his years of service to Alta Family Health Clinic and the community of Dinuba.
As part of the entertainment for the 17th Annual Community Holiday Party, the Dinuba High School Marching Band performed a medley of tunes for those in attendance.

Team, Dinuba Community Health Center. Alta Family Health Clinic, of which Thusu was formerly the CEO, was acquired by Valley Health Team back in September. The move, according to Thusu, enabled the clinic to expand its services while allowing all employees to stay on board.
In addressing the crowd at Friday’s event, Thusu stated, “Dinuba is a small town, we need to live together, work together and care for each
other.”
Cheryl Nicolay, president for clinic’s
board of directors, called Dinuba a city of dreams.
“But dreams are not just for dreaming,” said Nicolay. “They’re for coming true. And we have a group of people here who want to inspire you to have your dreams come true. You can be anybody you want to be.”
Nicolay went on to add that Thusu has been instrumental in teaching her
and the board that when you dream a dream it can come true.
“You’re here today because he dreamt a dream,” Nicolay explained to the crowd. “And he shared it.”
In recognizing Thusu for 20 years as CEO of Alta Family Health Clinic, the board president added, “He has now stepped into his next dream of being the city mayor of Dinuba.”
And as mayor of Dinuba, Thusu is not holding back on further dreams
for the community of Dinuba. During Friday’s event, in the middle of escorting two Santas to a waiting crowd, or stopping to take pictures with the bikers from Cruising for Jesus, somewhere in the midst of all the action, Thusu stepped away for an important meeting.
He is working on his next dream. Thusu now is looking to bring a university to city of Dinuba.
“We need to have the needs and
skills so that these kids have jobs,” said Thusu. “There are many people who are left behind because they don’t have access to education.”
Students from Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District also helped give back at Friday’s event. The event offered hundreds of gifts to local children, sweaters, free food and live entertainment. In addition, 25 children also walked away with a brand new bike.

Dinuba FFA helps stock Open Gate Ministries' pantry
Club donates over 400 canned food items
even easier for the food bank. Dinuba FFA donated enough boxes to fill a pallet with over 400 canned food items.
After the cans were separated, it was ready to be donated to Open Gate. Officers, in official dress loaded up the donations and hand delivered them to the facility. These young members learned about the mission and efforts of this grassroots organization.
This opportunity to give back to the community has instilled the gift of giving during this holiday season and reminded everyone how donating a few cans of food can have a huge impact on the receiving families.

Throughout the month of November, Dinuba FFA had members collect and donate numerous canned food items to benefit the less fortunate in the community. Dinuba FFA was given the opportunity to donate the cans to Open Gate in Dinuba, which helps the citizens of Dinuba, Orosi, and other surrounding communities.
The chapter’s goal was to collect as much food as possible and give boxes filled with food to families in need in this season of giving. Cans were organized by their contents to make distribution
