parents get connected
On Sunday the Dinuba Futbol Club teamed up with Binational Health Week Taskforce and Movimiento Latino Show to provide local students with 300 free backpacks, just in time for the start of another school year.
The event was held in the parking lot of the Dinuba Futbol Club, on the corner of Tulare and Uruapan in downtown Dinuba.
Those who attended the event need to first visit various booths representing different organizations throughout the community. Some of the organizations at the event were Family Health Care, Delta Vector Control, Proteus and Anthem Blue Cross.
"This is a great opportunity for the kids," said Binational Health Week Taskforce representative Ricardo Castorena. "But it's also good for the parents because they get to learn about the services provided in their own community."
On September 15, the same groups will be giving out 300 boxes of food to the community. TOP LEFT: After receiving their free backpacks, some children took the opportunity to meet the mascot for the Fresno Futbol Club. The club also had a booth at Sunday's event.
