• Officers arrested a Reedley man at 12:16 a.m. after a high-speed pursuit west on Avenue 416 to Road 52. The driver admitted to fleeing the scene of a collision at Road 70, and was arrested on sus- pected DUI and hit and run.
• Vehicle burglary was reported at 7:40 a.m. in the 700 block of Hayes Avenue.
• A reckless driver was reported at 9:52 a.m. at Alta Avenue and Saginaw Way.
• A fire was reported behind the old Kmart building at 12:18 p.m. in the 2100 block of East El Monte Way.
• An assault was reported at 3:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Alta Avenue.

Sanger police have arrested a Sanger High student who they said brought a loaded gun onto campus last week.
Police said in a news release that the incident happened the afternoon of April 5, when an officer as- signed as a School Re- source Officer on cam- pus was advised by school administration that two students had observed another stu- dent with a gun in his waistband.
The officer and school security imme- diately contacted the
suspect, a 38-year-old woman, contacted the victim multiple times attempting to persuade him not to press charg- es. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Fresno County jail. • Officers conducted a field interview at North Avenue and James Street.

The City of Sanger seeks applicants for Public Financing Authority (PFA) Board for the Sanger North Academy Corridor Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD)
The City of Sanger announces new Board opening for the Sanger North Academy Corridor Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (“EIFD”).
The City of Sanger is seeking community members interested in making a difference in the community. Interested community members with expertise in business, finance, or community development, are encouraged to apply.
The City of Sanger is accepting applications from Sanger Community members to fill one (1) Vacancy on the Public Financing Authority (“PFA”) for the Sanger North Academy Corridor Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (“EIFD”) with a two-year term expiration of January 2024.
The PFA is the governing board for the EIFD. The EIFD provides financing of public capital facilities and other specified projects of community-wide significance that provide significant benefits to properties within the EIFD and the surrounding community. The board consists of five members, including three members of the City Council, and two members of the public. Members will serve two-year terms. Applicants must be a registered voter, employee, or representative of a non-profit entity, educational institution, or other corporate citizen within the City of Sanger, or former elected or appointed City of Sanger representatives. All members must complete a Statement of Economic Interest when appointed and annually thereafter.
The board will meet annually, and as necessary to perform the responsibilities under the EIFD Law, including the review and approval of an Infrastructure Finance Plan, and the consideration of bonds to finance the projects defined by the Infrastructure Financing Plan. New members can anticipate multiple meetings during the first 3-6 month of appointment and then annual and as necessary meetings.
Applications are available at the City of Sanger City Clerk’s Office, 1700 7th Street, Sanger, California 93657 or online at www.cityofsanger.net. The application deadline is 5 PM, May 5, 2022. Applications may be submitted electronically, by regular mail, or in person. Interviews (if necessary) are tentatively scheduled for May 10, 2022. Appointment is tentatively scheduled for the City of Sanger City Council meeting of May 19, 2022.
This open recruitment is based on City of Sanger City Council Resolution No. 2021-67 which established a roadmap for the formation of the EIFD and PFA.
Tentative PFA Board Meeting schedule: May 10, 2022; Week of June 13, 2022; Week of July 18, 2022; Week of August 22, 2022.
