Another SmartWater CSI arrest for the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Ag Crimes Unit and the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations Unit.
TCSO Ag Crimes Detectives and TCDA Investigators worked together in an ongoing investigation of recent battery thefts, from local farmers in the northern Visalia area. Units placed SmartWater CSI equipment in the area of 368 and Rd 124.
On August 26th at approximately 11:30 p.m., units received information the equipment had been stolen. Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 14300 Block of Ave 384 in Cutler and contacted the suspect, later identified as Everardo Sarmiento.
The equipment was later found in a stolen vehicle from the Visalia area. Deputies also found additional stolen property from a recent unrelated burglary.
Detectives also found SmartWater on the suspect’s hands and on the equipment. The suspect was later arrested and booked at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility for PC487 (Grand Theft) and PC496 (Possession of Stolen Property) and VC10851 (Stolen Vehicle).

Two London men arrested for alleged hate crimes

• Daniel Romero Valdez, 20, of Dinuba was booked on August 20 on suspicion of obstructing a public officer and smoking or possessing marijuana near a school or youth, both misdemeanors.
Police say officers contacted Valdez after observing him smoking marijuana in a public place, in the 200 block of North Uruapan Drive, where children were present. Officers say they asked him to leave the premises but he refused and then resisted while a police officer attempted to escort him out. He then reportedly continued to resist after being told he was under arrest.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Tulare County Jail for housing.
• Miguel Angel Espino, 28, of Dinuba was booked on August 21 on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and being in possession of a controlled substance.
According to police, officers had a consensual encounter with Espino in the 500 block of Alice Avenue and found him to be under the influence, and in possession, of meth. He was booked and transported to the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.

On August 21st, 2018 around 8:49 a.m., Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office were called to the area of Ave. 376 and Rd. 58 in London for a report of gunshots. When they arrived they discovered several shell casings in the area.
Deputies also found a vehicle with all the windows smashed out. The victim was contacted and told Deputies he was being called racial slurs and threatened. The victim also informed Deputies, as he was leaving the area, he was being shot at. The victim was not hurt.
Detectives with the Property Crime Unit arrived and took over the investigation. Numerous witnesses were contacted and two suspects, Ronald Patala and Lawrence Beirman, were identified as being involved in this crime. The investigation is ongoing.

• Isaac Zuniga, 34, of Dinuba was booked on August 25 on suspicion of attempted robbery, a misdemeanor.
According to police, the victim in the crime stated she was riding her bike when he allegedly chased her down, pulled her by the hair off the bicycle and onto the floor. He then attempted to take her bicycle away from her. He was arrested in the 1300 block of East Whittaker Way, booked and transported to the Tulare County Jail.
• Juan Torrez, 53, of Dinuba was booked on August 26 on suspicion of embezzlement, a misdemeanor.
Police say he was caught on video surveillance stealing beer from his employer at Liquor Locker. After reportedly admitting to stealing the beer, he was placed under arrest in the 100 block of North Crawford Avenue, booked, cited and released.

Police say they contacted
him in the 50 block of Euclid Avenue after his vehicle matched the description of one identified by license plate in a recently reported theft. He was identified by the reporting party, arrested and then transported to the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility. The stolen property was recovered.
• George Delacruz Jr., 42, of Dinuba was booked on August 22 on suspicion of being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. He was contacted on the 200 block of North L Street after being pulled over for a vehicle code violation.
Officers say he advised he was in possession of a meth pipe, which police later found him to be in possession of. He was taken into custody and later cited and released with a signed promise to appear in court.
• Ruben Christopher Nydell, 31, of Dinuba was booked on August 23 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, a felony.
According to police, the victim responded to the Dinuba Police Department to report a domestic violence. The victim reportedly stated she was punched with a closed fist and had a visible injury. Police say Nydell turned himself in, and was later booked and transported to the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.
• Mariah Anne Flores, 25, of Dinuba was booked on
August 24 on suspicion of child endangerment, a felony.
Police say officers responded to Walmart after receiving a report of a toddler running in the parking lot. When officers made contact with the toddler the child directed them to his residence, in the 900 block of West El Monte Way. When officers arrived at the residence, they reportedly found the door open and the child’s mother asleep on the couch. Police say she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, and there was a strong odor of marijuana in the residence.
She was arrested, booked and transported to the Tulare County Jail for housing.
• Kaila Solorio, 18, of Orosi was booked on August 25 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.
Police say she was identified as the suspect who stabbed several persons during a disturbance in the 1000 block of Park Way. She was contacted at her residence in Orosi and taken into custody
