Audrey’s honors include four white chevrons for achieving a GPA of 4.0 and above. She is involved in the DHS choir program, including Madrigals for 3 years, and was elected Choir President by her peers. Her sophomore year she was selected for the Central Valley Regional Choir. She also belongs to the Ignite Club.
Audrey volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters which has been a great way for her to mentor children and be a good role model. She also has taught Sunday School at her church since her freshmen year, and helps annually at Dinuba’s Thanksgiving Community Dinner.
Her future plans are to attend Fresno State
Audrey’s platform is “Foster Care.” She chose this platform because she was raised by guardian parents herself. She thinks it’s important for all children to be able to thrive in safe and healthy home environments. Audrey believes foster parents can fill that need for children whose parents aren’t able to provide for them.
Audrey would like to be Miss Dinuba because it will be an amazing opportunity to be a leader in her community. It would allow her to walk alongside her city to help it thrive and grow, enhance her leadership skills, and learn to balance her responsibilities. Being Miss Dinuba is also an amazing way for her to inspire and mentor the youth of her community.
Browne, Mrs. Borba, and Mrs. Wilterding guided the officers to learn it is important to work together, through obstacles and differences, to accomplish chapter goals and make the year run smoother. While camping, the student officers planned this year’s fundraisers, community service events,

chapter meetings, and theme. The officers left the retreat with new leadership skills, a planned out year, and goals to strive for, not as one person, but as a team.
On August 9th - 10th, chapter officers and a few members traveled to San Luis Obispo to participate in the San Joaquin Regional Leadership Boot Camp. The officer team, including Jocelyn Ochoa and Marlyn Carbajal, were challenged both physically and mentally, to work together as a team to overcome various obstacles. The biggest take-a- way? There’s no “I” in team. Participants competed in the obstacle course, leadership reaction course, and competitive events competition, with the team placing 3rd. Through all of the activities, the officers
Karen’s platform is “Finish the Race.” She chose this platform because she’d like to find a way to encourage those who are not motivated to finish high school. As a member of student council and leadership, her goal is to inspire students to join a club, sport, or extra-curricular activity to become involved in. She believes this would make school a place they want to be.
Karen would like to be Miss Dinuba because
it has always been a dream of hers to have the opportunity to compete for the title. She has been inspired by prior Miss Dinubas and would like to be that positive influence for future generations. Karen would like to learn more about her community and strive to make Dinuba a better place.
had fun cheering on their teammates and working as a cohesive group. It was a pleasure to see this group grow and work together over the two days.
The 2018-2019 school year will be a fantastic year for all FFA members, including the newly added middle school members who are enrolled in the Ag Discovery classes at Washington Intermediate, being taught by Mr. Roy Browne. Over the course of the school year, Dinuba FFA hopes to make a positive impact on the lives of students through developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. On behalf of the officer team, and members, we welcome this new school year full of promise, new opportunities, and fun to be had by all.
