$100 Lesly Alvarez Valencia capped $100 the series of student addresses, $100 telling stories of the experiences $100 of some class of 2018 graduates. $100 Valencia cited four unnamed $100 friends who had overcome the $100 likes of homelessness, abuse and $100 depression, but were receiving $500 their diploma and moving on to $250 higher education.
$300 Valencia then described $300 herself, as “the girl who came $300 here when she was four years $200 old, but does not belong in $200 this country. Whose parents $200 only received a middle school $250 education and who therefore $250 had to learn about college on her $200 own. Who is standing before you $100 as the No. 1 student in the class, $75 who will be attending Fresno
State on a full-ride scholarship as a first-generation college student and as a Dreamer.”
Valencia gave her speech in both English and Spanish.

Local students win bikes from Dinuba Lions Club
$1,000 Contributed $1,000 Local elementary school students who achieved perfect attendance this year were entered for a $1,000 drawing for a free bicycle from the Dinuba Lions Club. The winners picked out their own bicycle $1,000 and helmet from Wal-Mart, provided by the Dinuba Lions Club.
