to Golden West High School 58-52 on Dec. 14 in the second round. Florian Stasch had 12 points. Alex Ortuno scored seven points and Hector Mo- rales had six.
On Dec. 15, Reedley High avenged a season-opening loss to Orange Cove High (69- 63 on Nov. 21) and defeated the Titans 57-36. Ortuno led the Pirates with 16 points, while Stasch had 13. Anthony Figueroa had seven.
On Dec. 16, the Pirates fell to McLane High 58-39 in the final day of the tournament.
Stasch had nine points, while Ortuno added seven. Jordan Chavez had six points.
“At times we have proved that we can play with teams like CVC and McLane but put- ting together four quarters is going to be critical to this pro- cess,” Ferrell said. “Against
Golden West we had our most complete game but came up short. Leo [Hernandez] and Alex [Ortuno] stepped in and took high quality charges that were not called that would have closed the game out for us. But leaving the game in the ref's hands is always a dangerous way to try and win a game.”
Reedley High played Kingsburg High School on Dec. 19 in Kingsburg. No score was available at press- time.
The Pirates play Granite Hills High School from Por- terville on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Reedley High.
They then will compete in the Jesse Lujan Memorial Tournament held Wednesday, Jan. 3, to Saturday, Jan. 6, at Selma High School. They open the tournament on Jan. 3 against Madera High.
“We are looking forward to playing against some good
teams over the winter break,” Ferrell said. “From here on out, the competition we play will continue to get tougher, and it’s a challenge that our team is excited for.”
RHS Small Ball Camp
Reedley High boys and girls basketball teams will host a small ball camp for kids in Kindergarten to eighth grades Jan. 13, 20, 27 and Feb. 3 at Reedley High School.
These are the daily times for the camps: K-second grade, 8:30 to 10 a.m., third to fifth grade, 10 a.m; to 11:30 a.m; and sixth to eighth grade, 11:30 to 1 p.m.
The cost for the camp is $40 before Dec. 15 and $50 after.
Registration fees include a reversible camp jersey.

The Reedley High Pi- rates boys wrestling team finished in third place out of the 21 teams during the 2017 California Classic Wrestling tournament.
Nearly 20 teams con- verged at Reedley High School on Dec. 16 to compete.
Liberty High School from Madera won the event with a team score of 185 points, while Coalinga High took second with 160.5 points. Reedley High had 156 total points to earn third place.
Daniel Badilla led the Pi- rates winning the 172-pound weight class. He defeated
Liberty High's Jesse Ramirez by pin fall 4 minutes and 42 seconds into the champion- ship match.
Gabriel Badilla took sec- ond place in the 140-pound weight division. Badilla fell to Bakersfield's Valentin Marin 8-1 in the final.
Reedley High also got a second-place finish from Ad- am Morales in the 197-pound weight class. Morales fell to Stockdale's Robert Maiden 8-2.
Jose Camargo earned third place in the 287-pound weight class. He defeated Cesar Chavez's Anthony Ceja 3-1 in the third-place match.
Reedley's Sam Arroyo
finished in fourth-place in the 172-pound weight class, while Jair Silva and Leo Hernandez each earned sixth-place finishes in the 154-pound and 16-2 pound weight divisions, respec- tively.
The Pirates competed in the DeLiddo Invitational on Dec. 20 in Lemoore. No results were available at presstime.
They then will open North Yosemite League du- als on Wednesday, Jan. 10, against Sunnyside High School at Reedley High.

Immanuel will compete in the Clovis Elks Christmas Classic Wednesday, Dec. 27, to Saturday, Dec. 30 at Clovis High School in Clovis.
“I'm looking for the team to continue getting comfort- able and confident running our offense and defense,” Woods said. “The kids are buy- ing into it, and we're continu- ing to get better.”
IHS Girls Basketball
The Immanuel High School girls basketball team is now 4-2 overall after going 3-1 in the Madera Shootout, Dec. 13 to 16 at Madera High School.
The Eagles earned wins over Mendota High, Madera High and Edison High, respec- tively.
On Dec. 13, Krystale Guti- errez had 30 points in Imman-
uel's High defeat of Mendota High School 58-51 in the first round of the Madera Shootout. Aaliyah Seuell had 17 points in the Eagles' win.
On Dec. 14, the Eagles defeated Madera High 45-33.
Gutierrez had 22 points, while Seuell had 11. Amanda Scheidt had nine points.
On Dec. 15, Immanuel lost to Hanford High 54-51. Gutierrez led the Eagles with 22 points, while Seuell had 16.
On Dec. 16, Immanuel defeated Edison High 41-31.
For the fourth straight game, Gutierrez led the Ea- gles in scoring. She had 17 points. Scheidt had 10.
Immanuel High was coming off a 56-35 loss to Sierra Pacific High School on Dec. 12 at Imman- uel High. Gutierrez had 28 points.
Immanuel played Liberty High School on Dec. 18 and Parlier High School on Dec. 19. No scores were available at presstime.
The Eagles will compete in the Old Town Clovis Kiwan- is New Years Eve Tournament Wednesday, Dec. 27, to Sat- urday, Dec. 30, at Buchanan High School in Clovis.

With a 73-60 win over San Matep College on Dec. 17, the Reedley College Ti- gers womens basketball team earned a third place finish at the College of San Mateo Tournament.
The tournament was held Dec. 15 to Dec. 17 at San Mateo College.
The Tigers are 9-4 over- all after the tournament.
On Dec. 15, the Tigers defeated Santa Monica Col- lege 76-55.
Reedley College took a 47-29 lead into halftime and were never challenged.
I'man Conley and Jelani Williford each had 19 points. Williford also had 10 rebounds. Zavia Barlow had 18 points.
The Tigers lost to San Joaquin Delta on Dec. 16, before defeating San Mateo on Dec. 17 73-60.
No statistics were avail- able for the games.
Reedley College will
open Central Valley Confer- ence play on Wednesday, Jan. 3, hosting West Hills College-Lemoore.
RC Men's Basketball
The Reedley College Ti- gers men's basketball team fell to 3-8 overall after going 0-2 at the San Joaquin Delta Tournament Dec. 15 and 16 in Stockton.
On Dec. 15, the Tigers lost to Cabrillo College 63-36 to open the tournament.
Ruben Parks led the Ti- gers with 11 points, while Hassan Bolden had 10.
Reedley College then lost 82-79 to San Joaquin Delta in overtime on Dec. 16.
Bolden had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Al- fredo Jimenez had 14 points. Parks and Elijah Jefferies each had 13 points.
The Tigers play Hartnell College on Saturday, Dec. 30, at Reedley College.

Nate Kendricks - Immanuel High boys basketball
Nate Kendricks, Immanuel High guard, scored 30 points, 49 points, and 30 points in three games at the Father Barry Christmas Classic Dec. 7 to Dec. 9
in Carmichael. Kendricks earned an All-Tournament selection. In seven games
so far this season, Kendricks in averaging 33.6 points
per game for the Eagles. Kendricks then had 39 points, 34 points, 32 points and 24 points to help lead the Eagles to a 3-1 record at the Holiday Invitational Classic.
