• The Alta District Historical Society rescheduled its yard sale to Saturday, April 14, starting at 8 a.m. at 275 South K Street in Dinuba.
The ADHS is seeking volunteers. For more information, call 591-2144 or email altahistorical@yahoo.com.
• A Kiwanis Family Reunion will be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Dinuba Christian Church at 1:30 in the afternoon.
All present and former Kiwanis, Circle K, Key Club, Keywanette, Builder's Club and K-Kid members are invited to attend and share memories and refreshments.

• The city of Dinuba will hold a surplus vehicle auction on Friday, April 20 at 1088 East Kamm Avenue in Dinuba. Bidding opens at 8 a.m. and ends at noon. Payments must be made seven business days from the date of the auction.
• The 2018 Relay For Life event is on Saturday, April 21 at Dinuba High School. This year's theme is: "One Day, One Night, One Community, One Fight" - For more information contact Luisa Sanchez at 859-6803.
• Jefferson Elementary School has rescheduled its carnival to April 27, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Jefferson is located at 1666 E. Sierra Way in Dinuba.
• The Fourth Annual Vietnam Wall Dedication Ceremony will be held April 30 at 10 a.m. A luncheon will also be held.

Jose Cruz Rodriguez, 32, of Dinuba, was booked April 4 on suspicion of oral copulation with a person under 14 years old, sodomy of a person under 14 years old and lewd acts with a child under 14, all felonies.
The suspect was arrested in the 400 block of Lillie Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Wilfredo Antonio Ramirez, 18, of Bakersfield, was booked April 7 on suspicion of burglary, forgery, forging a check and making a fictitious check, all felonies, and providing false identification to police, a misdemeanor.
The suspect was reported to police for attempting to cash a fake check, a Dinuba Police report said. The suspect was allegedly found in possession of two fake identification cards, a fake check and a previously cashed fake check.
He was arrested in the 2100 block of East El Monte Way and transferred to county jail.
• Joseph Mario Madrid, 37, of Dinuba, was booked April 7 on suspicion of vandalism by defacing property and
booked April 4 on suspicion of obstructing an officer and using offensive words in a public place, both misdemeanors.
According to a Dinuba Police report, the suspect was allegedly “cursing and yelling at school staff causing a disturbance on campus” and refused orders by school staff.
She was arrested at Washington Intermediate School and released to a parent.

When it rains it pours goes the saying! is time it was Low Life Cowards who came in the middle of the night to our Storage Bin located behind the Dinuba Memorial Hall grounds and did major collateral damage by stealing all our fund Raising Equip- ment and Supplies. Stolen were a Large Kobota Generator and and Small Honda Generator. e generators play a major role in getting us electricity and fresh cool air during the 100 + degree
at the United Market parking lot Firework Sales. is is a major fund raiser for July. ey also stole 5 shade tents, new cans of red, white & blue paint used for painting the disability ramps and walk-ways at Memorial Hall. ey took two wagons that fold up to carry heavy stu . e heavy duty plastic tarps used for oor- ing at Raisin Day and Cinco de Mayo were also taken. Missing is the required netting that goes around the Tents used to sell Tri- Tip sandwiches. We are on our 14 year selling our famous Sands’. e Cowards also took one extra large plastic container that had over 20 di erent size Electrical Cords. We also lost our box with the tools that took years to accumulate. ey le behind six folding chairs and the our ags. Our long tables were also spared. Missing is three butane containers used for the BBQ cooker at the park. e Memorial Wall committee has been using our equip- ment for raising funds to pay o the Wall. Boy, What a time to lose these items as summer approaches.
Not long ago Dinubans and people of this District came around and donated when we asked for monies to pay for the Disability Ramps; we are asking the public for DONATIONS so we can start from scratch. We are in a race for time as the next big project will be Cinco De Mayo. We have a non-pro t number we can give you so your donation is tax deductible.

- The Friends are holding five drawings for free books for different age groups this month. The winners will be drawn April 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the Dinuba Library. For each visit that a book is checked out until then, one ticket will be given for a chance to win.

• A 17-year-old boy was booked April 6 on suspicion of battery on a person, a misdemeanor.
He was arrested in the 1400 block of West Sierra Way, cited and released.
• Two 14-year-old boys were booked April 5 on suspicion of possessing a weapon at school, a felony.

The Dinuba community will have the opportunity to give their input on the future of the downtown area. An outreach meeting will be held on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Dinuba Vocational Center.
Graduate students from Cal Poly will be visiting town on Friday in part of a project to create a comprehensive conceptual design plan for the future of Downtown Dinuba. The students will present their initial
ideas and will accept feedback from the public to consider in their final plan. Refreshments will be served and children are welcome.
The students’ overall study will cover a large variety of aspects in Dinuba’s downtown, including repurposing of existing city- owned buildings and property, neighborhood enhancements, walkability, utilizing existing open spaces, themed street lights and decorations, identifying future residential opportunities and more.
