Yaretzi Corpus Solis is a 14-year-old 8th grader at Washington Intermediate School. Her parents are Romelia Solis and Jorge Corpus.
She has participated in the color guard, cheer team, and Choices cheer team. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is in the CJSF club. She also enjoyed collecting and donating more than 200 cans for “Stuff the Trolley” during the past holiday season. That experience made her realize that not everyone is as lucky, as it encouraged her to help the less fortunate.
Her hobbies are dancing, baking, and choreographing dances. She plans to attend a university and become an architect.
Participating in the pageant will help her grow into a bigger and better person. Yaretzi states the pageant experience will help increase her confidence and empower her to speak in front of crowds. She looks forward to making new friends. It would be an honor to become the next Cinco de Mayo princess
redistribute the internet sales tax that Dinuba currently receives.
Thusu said to Chiang, "I would like to use your offices to plead for us to all the lawmakers that are out there not to take this bill on and save a town like Dinuba. It would be disastrous for us."
Chiang, a Democrat, previously served as the chair of the California Board of Equalization and then state controller. He is one of several vying to be the next
California governor in the June 5 primaries.
Previously as state controller, Chiang said he led free income taxes for those in the south San Joaquin Valley.
Of his credentials, Chiang said, “I’m the only person to be elected to all three statewide financial offices, I’ve exercised the courage to stand up to the powers that be to make sure we build economic opportunities.
When I was the controller I took on former governor Schwarzenegger and then I took on the legislature when they kept passing phony budget after phony budget, which had devastating impacts.
“Whether it’s our ability to invest in businesses or provide sustainable financing to (education), and affordable healthcare to Californians, as governor, I will take that lead.”
