March 23, 1934 ~ June 9, 2018
Marie Southard was born in Senath, MO, on March 23, 1934, and died in Reedley, CA, on June 9, 2018, at the age of 84. She worked for many years as a cook for Kings Canyon School District as well as Palm Village Retirement Community.
Marie is survived by her four children, Barbara Little of Kingsburg, Doug Southard of Kingsburg, Gary “Rusty” Southard of Reedley and Rick Southard of Reedley; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; and one sister, Dolores Lintow of Sebastopol, CA.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Dopkins Funeral Chapel in Dinuba. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 16, at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
Bill Hostetter
April 9, 1940 - May 31, 2018
Bill was born on April
9, 1940 in Oakland, CA to George Kirkham and Melba Josephine Hostetter. Bill passed away on May 31, 2018 in Clovis, CA. He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years Bernice Ann Hostet- ter and his younger brother George Kirkham Hostetter plus many nieces and neph- ews who loved him dearly.
Bill graduated from Lindsay High School in 1958 followed graduating from Fresno State with honors with a Degree in Business Administration. Bill became an expert in Work-
ers Compensation working for several attorneys in Fresno. Bill served two years in the US Army from 1963-65, which included a year in South Korea. He loved sports, and only the San Francisco Giants rivaled the Lindsay Cardinals in his a ections.
Services to remember our dear Bill are a Viewing on June 14, 2018 at Farewell Funerals on Locust in Fresno from 5-7 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Reedley Cem- etery Pavilion on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:30 PM followed by a Reception at Sierra View Homes Terraces, Reedley, CA.

John Franklin Friesen
Our beloved Husband, Father, and Grandpa, John Franklin Friesen, went
to be with the Lord on June 10, 2018 at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Harriet of 54 years, son Scott and wife Kelly, son Craig and wife Kecia, and daughter Kim Jost and husband Kurt, nine grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. He is preceded in death by his parents Reverend Dan and Eva Friesen. He enjoyed
a lengthy career as an
elementary school teacher a er serving in the U.S. Navy.
Services will be held Friday, June 15th, 2018 at 10:30am at the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church 1362 L. Street, Reedley, CA. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dopkins Funeral Home in Reedley.
Heidi Ann Brooks
December 15th, 1931 - June 4th 2018
Heidi Ann Brooks age 86 passed away gracefully at home on June 4th 2018
Heidi was born on December 15th, 1931 as Idellette Ann Ellington she
was known as “Idy”. Her Father was the son of Norwegian Immigrants,
her Mother Inez was of Irish de- scent. Her mother’s love of poetry and her dad’s Norwegian sense of
humor in uenced mom’s life greatly.
She grew up in Spear sh South Dakota and attended Spear sh
Schools. A er High School she attended Spear sh Teachers College.
Her love of the Black Hills of South Da- kota never waned throughout her life. She
had 3 brothers and 3 sisters and was the sixth of seven children.  eir love for one another carried through
to their o spring.
Heidi married Richard Martindale in 1949, and soon a er Mi-
chael was born. Tragically Richard was killed in a heavy equipment accident. A year later she met her knight in shining armor at a dance in the Spear sh city park bandstand. She married Arlie Day Brooks on April 3rd 1952 in Spear sh South Dakota.  eir love of dancing continued throughout their lives.
Arlie received his Teaching credential and accepted a teaching position in California in 1953. Heidi and Arlie lived in Kingsburg, Selma, Coalinga, and then moved to Reedley in 1963, where she was an extremely dedicated supportive coach’s wife, and a wonder- ful homemaker raising 5 children. She began teaching 3rd grade at St. LaSalle Catholic School, which she loved. She was a great cook, reader, seamstress, loved to knit, played great golf, loved laughter music and dancing. Heidi and Arlie went dancing every Friday night!  ey shared one amazing romance for 66 &1/2 years.  eir love of their family was the foundation that kept us all so close.
Because Heidi and Arlie both taught, the family spent many summers in South Dakota, working on the family ranch, enjoying time in Spear sh and Phillip. Such wonderful memories.
Heidi was a woman of strong Catholic Faith as a member of St An- thony’s Catholic Parish in Reedley.
Heidi is survived by her loving Husband Arlie Brooks, her Sons Michael, Kelly, Daniel, and daughters Peggy McKellar, and Patricia Hixson. Grandchildren: Ryan Brooks, Robyn Klemm, Allyson Klein, Jennifer Dressel, Jamison McKellar, Chase Hixson, Sean Hixson, and Matthew Hixson.
Great Grandchildren: Kaden McKellar, Emmalyn and Nolan Kl- emm, Hailey and Hannah Klein, Scotty Jansen and Declan McKellar. Siblings Edward (Duke) Ellington, and Eloise Harback
Rosary will be on Friday the 15th of June at the new
St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, Reedley, California. 12-12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass Following.

Remedios A. Ancheta, age 85 of Reedley, passed away on June 3, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alberto A. Ancheta.
She is survived by her four children, Elena and husband Greg, Jimmy and wife Joanna, Socorro and husband Michael and JoJo and wife Jody, and ten grandchildren.
Remedios worked as a CNA at Sierra View Homes in Reedley for 35 years before she retired in 2007.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this dif cult time.
A mass will be held at the old St. Anthony’s Padua church on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10 a.m.
