Loretto A. Donaldson
Loretto A. Donald- son of Reedley died July 29. She was 68.
Ms. Donaldson worked as a cosmetolo- gist.
She is survived by two daughters and five grandchildren.
No services were held. Dopkins Funeral Chapel handled the ar- rangements.
Herman Wayne
Ensz
Herman Wayne En- sz of Reedley died Aug. 1. He was 91.
Mr. Ensz was a long- time teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lou Ensz, and one daughter.
Services are pend- ing. Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
James Popovich
James Richard Popovich of Orange Cove died July 29. He

was 82.
Mr. Popovich worked
as a custodian for the Dinuba Unified School District for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Beth" Popovich, two sons, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a grandson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel handled the ar- rangements.
Juan Salinas
Juan Diego Salinas of Dinuba died on July 23. He was 71.
Mr. Salinas worked was an auto body re- pairman.
Surviving family members his wife Elva Salinas, three sons, one daughter, six sisters, 13 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 5. Sterling & Smith Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Michael Franzen, owner and man- ager of Dopkins Funeral Chapel, stood outside the business' new building at 2200 South Reed Avenue in Reedley, across from the Reedley Cemetery. The new facility features
a chapel with seating for 110 people in non-COVID-19 conditions, a main vistation room, crematory, embalm- ing room and offices. Employees made the move on July 24 and held their first services at the new loca- tion the week of July 27. Dopkins has had a full funeral home operations for decades in Dinuba, and has had

Man arrested for possessing THC-laced candy
MVT Staff Report
Reedley police last week arrested a mam who possessed mari- juana and packages of candy laced with tetra- hydrocannabinol, a crys- talline compound that is the main active ingredi- ent of cannabis.
Johnny Castaneda, 27, was booked and transported to the Fres- no County Jail after the July 27 arrest at the Edgewater Inn in north- west Reedley.
While conducting a probation search of Cas- taneda's room shortly af- ter 8 a.m., officers found a digital scale, a glass jar with multiple bindles

beled "Stoner Patch Gummes" and "Medi- cated Nerds." Police en- courage parents to be aware of these products that resemble and com- mercial packaged candy, and to be vigilant about what children are con- suming.

Drive-by shooting in Cutler sends 3 men to hospital
MVT Staff Report
A drive-by shooting in Cutler on July 26 sent three men to the hospital
with non-life threaten- ing injuries. Authorities still were searching for a suspect.
The shooting oc- curred at around 11 p.m. in the 12400 block of Amethyst Avenue. Depu- ties arriving at the scene found two men, ages 24 and 30, had been shot. Both were transported to a local hospital with their gunshot wounds. A short while later, a third shooting victim arrived at the hospital. Wounds to the 21-year-old man also were not life-threat- ening.
Detectives at the scene said that the three men were standing in front of a home on Am- ethyst Avenue when a dark-colored sedan drove by. Multiple gun- shots came from the ve- hicle, striking the men, and the vehicle sped away.

On July 22, Tulare County Sheriff's depu- ties arrested a 27-year- old man accused of stabbing his 41-year-old neighbor during a con- frontation in the 12300 block of Aceves Avenue in Orosi. Deputies said the man had stabbed the neighbor multiple times in the head, chest and back. The victim was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment. the sus- pect was detained by bystanders and arrested
by deputies.
