ROYAL ARMY VETERINARY CORPS – MELTON BRANCH ASOCIATION
The Royal Army Veterinary Corps (RAVC) Association has a small branch known as the Melton Branch, based in Melton Mowbray and is looking to increase its membership. The Melton Branch of the Association has been active for many decades now; however, more ‘new blood ‘is needed to relieve some of us who are approaching our sell by date! The Branch is set for a secure future, but we look for volunteers with commitment and dedication to help keep the Melton branch thriving in the future.
Those who have served in the RAVC are automatically life members of the RAVC Association. All those who have either served with the RAVC or at the Defence Animal Centre as it is now known, or are friends of the RAVC are also entitled and are most welcome to become Associate members of the RAVC Association.
The Association Branch meets monthly on the rst Thursday evening of the month at the Defence Animal Centre in the Warrant Of cers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, by courtesy of the Regimental Sergeant Major.
Further information about the RAVC can be found on the following website: www.ravc-association.org
Members and others interested in the activities of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps can keep themselves up to date with RAVC events in Melton Mowbray as well as wider Corps activities. The up-to-the- minute website also holds recent copies of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps magazine, Chiron Calling which may be of interest to Melton readers.
Anyone wishing to join the Association or would like to attend the monthly meetings are most welcome to come along to the Thursday evening gatherings.
We are especially appealing to serving and retired members from the Melton area to come and join us. We are also looking for some new members for the Committee of Management of the Association.
New members can expect a warm welcome and a free drink on arrival. So please bring a friend along and enjoy the company in the Mess.
Further details about the RAVC Branch can also be sought from the Melton Branch Secretary; Mr Roger Whittle by emailing him at roger.whittle.13@btinternet.com or regtsecravc@hotmail.co.uk
