many other sponsored classes, by both commercial firms and DA’s, we thank
them all, as this helped to ensure that the Championships were a financial success, as well as a spectacular showcase of some of the best exhibition veg in the world.
This year was also the end of 20 years’ service to the Northern Branch by Tom Lewins as Show Manager; without Tommy my job would have been impossible. At his side throughout these years has been his wife Sheila who has sold many exhibitors and members of the public tombola tickets. In 2019 the Show Manager will be Jim Robinson who most members know as a top class shallot grower; he was on hand to help exhibitors through the night when staging at this year’s National and for a number of years at the Northern Branch Championships.
I hope all exhibitors have enjoyed themselves in North Yorkshire and specially at Harrogate and hope you all come back again in 5 years’ time.
