54 OBITUARY
MIKE FORD
We were very sad to learn of the passing of Mike Ford, whose funeral was held on 1st September 2020.The news arrived too late to include in our previous edition.
Mike was a long-time Member and supporter of the Club and was latterly
a Club Guardian. For many years he volunteered a great deal of his time, and lent his considerable skills, to editing our various publications including this magazine. He would often be seen photographing and recording Club events for publication.
Mike began his career in journalism at the Farnham Herald before moving to the Southern Daily Echo, where he stayed for 43
years.After first working on the news desk, he later moved to business and motoring. His detailed business knowledge gained him plaudits, and he was a life member of the Guild of Motoring Writers.
Our condolences go to Mike’s wife Gill and children Michelle, Rob and Claire.
