Corps Day
This year a group of 27 members, family & friends met to celebrate Corps Day. We were once again welcomed into the Morning Service at our now adopted St John the Baptist Church, where the vicar, Canon Sarah Rowland Jones, a strong supporter of the Association, incorporated our Corps Hymn, Prayer and Corps March into the Service. Following refreshments & chats with the congregation, we made our way to Cardiff Castle where we enjoyed a very nice meal in the emotive surroundings of the Firing Line Museum, excellently looked after by the Museum Director, Chris Dale.
National Corps Day
A number of our members joined with friends from other Branches to celebrate National Corps Day.
Standard Bearers from 3 Branches followed the National Standard down the aisle of The Garrison Church, Aldershot. A very nice service was conducted by our very own Rev’d John Harvey, Chaplain of the RAMC.
Following the service there was a Parade of serving personnel and veterans up the hill to
The Royal Pavilion, the former Training Centre of the QARANC, where we enjoyed a very nice buffet lunch.
AGM 2017
QARANC Association Reunion and Lunch
This year the Reunion was held at the Victory Services Club, a striking and smart venue situated at Marble Arch, London. A few Welsh Branch members joined the gathering of many QAs, both serving and retired, catching up with old friends and events since they had last met and generally enjoying a good old gossip.
It was nice to meet up with old comrades that I had not seen since I first joined the QAs.
A few words were given by Col Sue Bush, as this was to be her last reunion as Association Chairman.
We were also introduced to Col Carol Kefford, who was taking over from Col Sue as QA Col Comdt.
