                                     The house, shown on the previous page, was occupied in 1891 by Frances Wright, a corn

For many years the land stood
derelict, as shown, planning permission being obtained to build a new doctor’s surgery before being purchased to
erect a care home. The exterior from Huntingdon Road in August 2022 is shown during building and the home was formally opened in March 2023.
In 1936 it was the last house on
that side of the road (Leayton’s 1936
Thrapston Almanack and Directory),
the corn merchant’s business being
run alongside a coal delivery service by Messrs. Pashler and Cheney at 30 High Street.
   By 1987 the house looked as in the black and white photograph on the previous page, whilst
