Volunteer Action – Group
Befriending Events
We are delighted to announce that we are looking to run regular meet up opportunities within the Community of East Northants North to help reduce rural isolation within people aged 65 years plus. We are looking for volunteers to help us and anyone to come and join us for a meet up.
Please keep an eye on our website (and in
the press) for more details – we will be coming to a café near you soon for a brainstorming event – to see how we can best help serve the community and the already existing social groups in providing more opportunities to meet up, socialise and hopefully make some lifelong friends.
If this sounds of interest to you – please do give our office a call on 01832 275433 to find our more details.
THRAPSTON WI
We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in Thrapston Baptist church, St Paul’s Gardens NN14 4FE.
Visitors are very welcome at a charge
of £5.00 and we try to offer an engaging speaker or activity every meeting along with a raffle and refreshments. This gives us a chance to meet others and make new friends. Northamptonshire WI also makes available a wide range of extra activities open to members and non members, with a full programme for the coming year.
It’s been a busy summer for Thrapston WI.
As well as our monthly meetings, we have been on a coach trip to Hunstanton, continued our bi-weekly walking group and took part in the Thrapston Charter Fair. Our skittles team also plays every other week.
We’ve also been busy planning ahead. We have another trip booked and taking place soon, with ideas for others in discussion. We have a varied programme planned right up until the end of 2024 with events including craft, charity, music, dance, food and birds of prey. We also have some evenings that are purely social.
If you would like to know more about what we do, come along and meet us at Thrapston Baptist Church, 7.30pm on the 1st Thursday of the month.
There are refreshments and a raffle. Visitors pay £5 and are always welcome.

Thank you so much!
In the August edition of Oundle Life we featured Milly and Hatty Hunt’s ‘Hair- raising’ for Little Princess Trust.
They would like to thank everyone who supported them and donated money. The money they raised really will make such a huge difference to someone’s life.
