                                  CSquadron continued to train through 2019 as 12 Armoured Infantry Brigade’s Recce Group (BRG) before re-setting with the Regiment for 2020. With the command team largely the same, we have had a unique opportunity to deepen our core skills; integrating enablers, operating at night, both in the field and socially! We have had people in Germany, the USA, Italy, Israel and equally exotic, Salisbury Plain and Wales... Here is what we’ve been up to:
2019 kicked off with training at troop level. Squadron Headquar- ters deployed on Ex SPECULAR as the BRG whilst the troops were able to focus on their specialist skills including on the Anti- Tank, Support and Sabre Troop cadres. We soon thereafter con- ducted our first squadron exercise focused on close-target recce
Bombing up, crews prepare for night firing!
(CTR) to build 6-man recce team cohesion and NCO leadership as the foundation of how we operate. With Capt Gardner leading the planning, it was little surprise this included a very wintry March week, and an 8-mile insertion tab with an urban-assault course on day one to boot! Before we knew it, however, Easter Leave was upon us and we were preparing for five weeks away on Ex TUNIS LANCER.
