CELEBRATION EVENT
Volunteer Action
We held a well-attended supporter celebration event on the evening of 27th September 2023 at Barnwell Village Hall. We saw over 50 volunteers and friends of VA attend, alongside Councillors Helen Harrison (who provided a closing presentation), Wendy Brackenbury and Geoff Shacklock.
Everyone was treated to a buffet donated by Co-Op in Oundle and drinks were provided
– Sheena Hill, Mel Lee and Alan Sinfield and celebrating five years were – John Barratt, Penny Smith, Emma Hanson, Sue Graham and Jane Finlayson. Special Recognition Certificates – Michael Barnwell, Gill Currie, Jan Jerwood and Anne Plowright.
We also took the opportunity to welcome in our new Chairman, David Cashmore and provide a thank you to the exiting Chairman after nine years’ service, Stuart Anderson.
Volunteer Action is a local charity supporting local residents who may be elderly, unwell, disadvantaged or have disabilities. By providing services our aim is to maintain independence and improve the quality of their lives.

their support. Lots of chatting was heard as volunteers finally met up with one another to discuss – it truly was an evening of laughter and good company!
Certificates for long service were provided on the night, seeing volunteers who have dedicated over 15 years of volunteering to support the community receiving awards, alongside five years and Special Appreciation Certificates.
