It’s competition time – Thrapston and Raunds Rotary explain...
This time of year usually sees the club running the annual Rotary Young Musician Competition but, for obvious reasons, that
is not possible this year. Young people and schools from the Thrapston and Raunds area have done particularly well in the past in this competition, which we hope will take place again next year. We are, however,
still offering young people in our area the chance to take part in some other Rotary competitions. Although the closing dates are soon, we hope to still get some entries from the Thraspton area:
Local closing date 5th February 2021: Rotary Young Photographer - 3 digital photos on the theme “Wild Nature”.
Rotary Young Writer - Participants can write fiction or non-fiction, a story or a poem on the theme of “My Happiest Day”. Story length max 500 words, typed or legibly
written, and poems should not be longer than 40 lines.
Local closing date 12th February 2021: Rotary Young Environmentalist - Open to individuals or teams: present a solution to an environmental problem on the theme of “Climate Change Carbon Reduction”.
Winners in our local competitions from each category and age group will be put forward to the Rotary District 1070 competitions. Whilst entries can be made on an individual basis, we welcome entries via schools and youth groups. Tel: 01933 624527 for more details or send a message via the Club Facebook page.
