Chairman’s Report
As we move into 2021, there are many signs to fill us with hope. Just as the literal light from the sun provides us with warmth and elements for life itself, so the metaphorical light of hope also gives us a warm feeling of optimism.
It was Nicolaus Copernicus (1473
to 1543) who formulated a model that placed the sun at the centre of the universe, rather than the earth. “To
know that we know, and to know that
we don’t know, that is true knowledge”. We are ‘rational’ beings which comes from the Latin word ‘rationalis’, meaning reasonable or logical which is the opposite to impulse or whimsy. Because we have the capacity to reason, it is imperative that we all maintain our discipline and remain committed to the safety of our families and community. Now is not the time to let our guard down and act in a way that risks others, it is not a time to be complacent.
There will come a time when we will be free again. This is the most natural desire
