     RETURN TO FACE-FACE
TRAINING AT YORKSHIRE
(N&W) ACF!
By SSI Fiona McCallion
The return to face-to-face training was authorised to start from the 26th April onwards, and the County's cadets and Adult volunteers were raring to go! Some areas have joined together in 'hubs' - in B Company, for example, the four York-based detachments have joined together to form the 'York Hub' at Strensall. This venue has a great deal of outdoor space, allowing training to be conducted both outdoors and indoors, and enabling social distancing.
To mark the return to face-to-face training, the Commandant, Colonel Jim Greenlee, issued the following message to all of the County's members:
I would like to give a big welcome back to all of our members, old and new, for what is hoped to be a steady return to normality!
Please be assured that all of the required systems (such as facemasks, distancing and sanitising)
will be in place to help prevent the risk of Covid-19 infection.
The transition from hub training to training in individual detachments will take place at a point in the future when it is safe to do so. Each Company
I would like

has its own schedule so, if you have not yet been contacted by your Detachment/Hub/Company admin, please be patient - they are working as hard as they can to make their reopening happen successfully and safely.
In order to achieve this, I would ask you to assist our organisation by ensuring that your contact details are up-to-date, as there are still some restrictions on room/building capacity so attendance lists may need to be prepared in advance.
Plans for residential events are already being drawn up, including training weekends and this year's Annual Camp (subject to the predicted progression on the Government's 'Road Map'). These can only take place if we - the cadets and Adult Volunteers of Yorkshire (N&W) ACF - work together to make them happen, and I am in no doubt that that will be the case.
I hope you are all looking forward to your return, and I personally look forward to seeing you all over the next few months.
Good luck and stay safe.
