    DETACHMENT CLEANING AND LIVE ZOOM
By AUO Ben Waldron-Lund
On Monday 26th April, AUO Ben Waldron-Lund & SI Mark Fillingham went into their detachment to start cleaning and getting Epworth & Isle of Axholme Detachment ready for returning in May. We have been making sure that all the supplies, information and detachment is fit for purpose.
We also held a live Zoom call for the Cadets to log in and see detachment and the changes that are going to be happening. AUO Waldron-Lund also explained to the cadets that we still have certain restrictions in place regarding training but we are working on getting us back to normal.
Once returned to detachment, we are planning on being outside and providing the practical lessons in addition to cadet experiences to ease us back into training.
 Success for Former Bridlington Cadet
By Colour Sergeant Zara Thorpe
Ex Cadet CSM Chloe Webber, formerly of Bridlington Detachment, has achieved her goal of passing her Phase 2 Army training and becoming a Lance Corporal in the Royal Military Police.
Chloe was a shy young girl when she first joined the ACF. Over the years she came out of her shell, made loads of friends and stepped up to the mantle of NCO when it was her time. She attended many camps and courses throughout her Cadet Force experience, including an Annual Camp in Germany, the national Cadet Leadership Course in Wales and the First National STEM course in Sennybridge.
Chloe is a natural leader with a warm personality who always inspired everyone around her. She was a key person within the county’s senior cadet leadership team that always took it upon herself to guide, mentor and develop as many of the JNCO’s and cadets that she could.
Chloe is also a keen sportswoman, not only representing the County in Athletics but also playing rugby with Driffield Ladies RUFC and representing Yorkshire.
When asked the question of ‘How did the
ACF help you towards your goals?’ Chloe said: “Cadets really gave me an insight to overcome the challenges I would face during my training for the army and it also helped me gain the confidence
I needed to achieve my promotion to Lance Corporal.
I had a fantastic time in the ACF and couldn’t recommend joining it enough! Being a part of Bridlington Detachment, the first thing we learn is ‘Once family, always family’, This is something that all the adults and cadets believe and uphold
above all else ‘We look after our own’.
I cannot thank any of them enough for
everything I have learnt and experienced during my time in the ACF!”
We are all very proud of Chloe and what she has achieved over the years and now
as she goes on with her Army career, we cannot wait to see what fantastic things she will no doubt experience.
