QUESTION & ANSWER
QA
After taking time out to have her second daughter, lovely Lizzie Hardcastle returns to her new role as Business Development Manager at Simpson and Partners. After 14 years working for the company, Lizzie knows all there is
to know about the Thrapston area
property market. Here she tells Jigsaw
more about her life in property.
Have you always worked in property? My career started in retail with John Lewis where I did a two year management course.
What’s the market like at the
moment? The property market has been extremely buoyant, especially the past 18 months. The market boomed as buyers demanded more space both inside and out. With more people working from home,
Thrapston has seen an increase of out of area buyers as more people want to enjoy Thrapston’s hotspots and beautiful open spaces. The stamp duty holiday, which began in July 2020, also drove demand pushing prices up in the process.
buyer demand has remained strong
Buyers are now hoping house prices will dip due to furlough and the stamp duty holiday end in the hope they might be able to get a bargain. But there is no guarantee this will happen. Despite a lack of property supply, buyer demands has remained strong.
The best thing about your job is...
...building relationships and having reoccurring business. Hence why I have stayed in the lovely town of Thrapston for so long!
...and the worst? Breaking bad news that a buyer/vendor has withdrawn or in a bidding war
